Set Skills rules to your sites to ensure compliance

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Skills rules allow you to apply particular conditions around skills for individuals / cohorts. For example, you might want to make the rule that every operative has to have a CSCS Card and ASBESTOS AWARENESS. You can then apply this rule to a particular site / project. If someone is signed into site and they don’t meet the skills rule criteria – the site will show up as red (non compliant).

Specific Examples:

  • You can set a rule that everyone must hold a valid CSCS card.

  • Or that all Site Managers must hold an SMSTS qualification and a First Aid at Work certificate.

Add New Rule

  1. Click the Skills tile on the left-hand side.

  2. Select the Rules tab at the top.

  3. Click the Add New button.

  4. Enter a name for your rule (e.g. “Site Manager Skills Rule”).

  5. Choose the cohort this rule will apply to (e.g. “Everyone” or just “Site Managers”).

  6. Click Add New Rule button

  7. Choose between two rule types:

    • Any – The user needs at least one of the listed skills

    • All – The user must have every skill in the rule to be compliant

NB: You can add a list of different conditions and they will be applied in order of the list you have created.

Select the Skills

  1. Tick the required skills from the dropdown list (e.g. SMSTS, First Aid and Asbestos)

  2. Click Save.

✅ Your new Skills Rule is now active.

You’ll now be able to:

  • View compliance on the Skills Matrix (see article Skills Matrix)

  • Apply rules as part of Sign-In Requirements

Use Case

Super Users, Admins, or anyone responsible for skills management and project compliance can use Skills Rules to help enforce training and certification standards across teams.

💡 Tips

  • Keep rule names simple and specific to help with reporting.

  • Use cohorts to apply different rules to different roles.

  • Review and update rules regularly to reflect new requirements.
