Chime Time

Top Up Time Bucket

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

A new Top Up modifier has been added to time buckets - if the time captured for a day falls short of a set amount, it's automatically topped up to that amount (as long as some time was clocked at all).

The top-up amount can be set in two ways:

  • Fixed number of minutes

  • Person's contracted hours for that day.

If both are selected, contracted hours are used where available, falling back to the fixed minutes value on any day where contracted hours aren't set.

New Time Bucket Rule – Business Closures

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

A new Business Closure rule lets you capture hours worked specifically on bank holidays or shutdown days, so this time can be paid and reported as you need to. You can apply the rule to shutdown days, bank holidays, or both.

Approval Change Reason – Added to Reports

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Chime Time reports now include an optional Approval Change Reason column, showing who made a change and why. It's hidden by default and can be switched on in the same way as the existing Comments column.

Approval Change Reason and Comment Columns Always Shown

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Where a change reason or comment is required at the point of approval, these columns are now always shown rather than needing to be switched on manually. Required fields are marked with an asterisk, and these columns can no longer be hidden, reordered or removed.

Payroll Number Added to Not Clocked In Report

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

The Not Clocked In report can now show each person's payroll number, making it easier to match records with payroll.

Site Tasks

Smarter Filtering and Layout

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

The Site Tasks screen now lets you filter by multiple statuses at once (so overdue tasks are never hidden), shows a cleaner set of columns by default, and remembers your layout next time you visit.

Skills

Expired Skills Now Visible in Archive View

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

The weekly email telling you which skills are about to expire has been improved.

You can choose how far ahead it looks. It used to always show what was expiring in the next 7 days. You can now have this set to any number of days - 30, 60 or 90, for example - to give you enough time to get people booked on a course. Just ask your CSM to change it to whatever time frame you need. If you don't, it stays at 7 days by default. Skills that have already expired still appear either way.

The full list now comes as a spreadsheet. Instead of listing everyone in the email, the list is attached as a spreadsheet showing each person, their trade and business unit, the skill, its reference, when it expires and how many days are left. Sort or filter it by skill and everyone who needs the same renewal appears together — so you can book them all onto one course.

The email is now a short summary — how far ahead it's looking, how many people are affected, how many skills are listed, and how many have already expired.

Expired Skills Now Visible in Archive View

Improvement

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Previously, when you renewed an expiring skill to a newer version, the old version wouldn't always be visible in Archive. Now it is visible in archive - either in Skills - Verification Tab, or Address Book - Individual Person - Skills Icon. Set the filter to 'Archive: Yes' to view.

Here is guide to archiving a skill

Equipment

Equipment Location History

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

You can now view a full history of where a piece of equipment has been, right from its details page on web and mobile — including who moved it and when.

Equipment Issue Notes Can Be Edited at Any Time

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Equipment issue notes can now be edited from web at any status, and the current note is visible on mobile at any status too — pre-filled automatically when marking an issue "In Progress". The note now stays in place after an issue is resolved, and has been relabelled simply "Note" on both web and mobile.

Equipment Map Now Groups Items at the Same Site

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Where several items are at the same site, the Equipment Map now shows a single pin with a count badge instead of stacked, unclickable pins. Clicking the pin opens a scrollable list of everything at that site, with delivery and collection dates for each item. Where allocation pins and sign-in pins coincide, allocation pins take priority.

Servicing "Upcoming" Warning Window Now Configurable

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

Time-based servicing rules now include an Upcoming Threshold setting, letting you choose exactly how many days in advance a piece of equipment shows as "Upcoming" for servicing. Previously this was calculated automatically with no way to see or change it.

Equipment Status Colour Now Reflects Issue Severity

New Feature

Release: Giraffe 1.0

The Red/Amber/Green status colour shown on inventory is now based purely on unresolved issues, rather than a mix of issues and servicing due dates. This means a genuinely critical issue is no longer masked by a routine overdue service.

General Bug Fixes

Files Uploaded to the Wrong Folder

Fixed an issue where uploading several files at once could cause some of them to save outside the folder that was selected, with no warning shown. Bulk uploads now save reliably to the chosen folder.

Auto-Created "ORPHANED" Folders

Fixed an issue where uploading files to a new site could automatically create an unwanted extra folder, named after the site with "ORPHANED" added to it.

Site Documents Now Open Correctly

We've fixed an issue where some site documents applied to multiple specific sites couldn't be opened or downloaded.

Checklist Titles No Longer Show Blank Placeholders

Checklist PDF titles now only show the information that was actually entered, instead of displaying placeholder text for any fields left blank.

Adding a Directory Role to a Contact Without an Email Address

Fixed an error when assigning a directory role to a contact that has no email address on file. Admin staff can now onboard these contacts without a blocker.
