What's New in Flamingo 1.0
Flamingo 1.0 brings real improvements across the platform such as signing site documents whenever needed (not just at sign in/out), and a simpler version of the equipment module.
Onboarding
Induction Workbench new columns added and Export
▌ Improvement
Release: Flamingo 1.0
The Induction Workbench now displays ‘Created by’ and ‘Created On’ for better visibility without the need to expand rows. A new Excel export option allows you to download all induction session data as a formatted report, providing a complete snapshot of onboarding progress.
Skills
Skills Matrix Export Improvements - Redesign, easy to view
▌ Improvement
Release: Flamingo 1.0
The Skills Matrix export has been completely redesigned to provide a clear spreadsheet that matches what you see on screen.
What's Included
Each export displays a clear header showing the report title, summary of people and skills, who created it, and when. Skill statuses are colour coded for instant visibility — green for Pass, amber for Unverified or Expiring Soon, red for Expired or Fail, and grey for No Skills. A colour key at the bottom explains each status.
Display Modes Supported
The export respects your chosen display mode: show status icons (Pass, Unverified, etc.) or expiry dates, with the same colour coding applied either way. Filters applied on screen are reflected in the export.
Site Documents
Site Documents Can Now Be Signed At Any Time
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
Site documents are no longer tied to just sign-in and sign-out. Admins can now push documents for signing at any point during the day.
For Admins
When creating a new site document, a third option is available: "Sign at any time." Set the notification time range when the document is available and the system will notify operatives. Frequency options (Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly) work the same way as other document types.
For Operatives
When a document is pending signature, a push notification alerts operatives on their mobile device. Tapping the notification takes them directly to the document to sign, with no extra steps needed.
Anytime Document Notifications
When a document is set to Anytime, a push notification is automatically sent to the relevant individuals, appearing as a pop-up on their device. The notification can also be found at any time in the notifications area of the mobile app via the bell icon at the bottom of the screen.
If someone misses these notification or has not yet signed the document, it will automatically be added to their sign out flow - ensuring it is captured and signed before the end of the day.
Tracking Compliance
Admins can see at a glance which operatives have signed "any time" documents, ensuring accountability for time-sensitive compliance requirements.
Address Book
Last Seen On Column Now Available in People Report
▌ Improvement
Release: Flamingo
A new "Last Seen On" column has been added to the People Report, giving visibility of when each person last accessed the platform. The column shows the most recent login or site clock-in date across web, mobile, and on-site access.
The column is hidden by default and can be shown using the column picker. It remains blank for people who have never accessed the platform.
Timesheets
Timesheet Approval Workflow Added
▌ Improvement
Release: Flamingo
New timesheet approval workflow option is now available:
Cost Centre Site Manager → Cost Centre Contract Manager
Web users can enter their Timesheet hours manually
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
A new "Your Timesheet Entry" view allows users to enter their own weekly hours directly into Chime via the web browser, without needing to use the mobile app. This is particularly useful for teams that don't use mobile clocking.
How It Works
Go to Chime Time > Your Timesheet Entry (tab).
Enter daily hours for the week - simply select a site, add a start and end time, and hours are calculated automatically. Multiple entries per day are supported, with automatic detection of overlapping times to prevent conflicts. Night shifts that cross midnight are supported.
Payment Requests
Payment requests can be attached to individual entries via a simple checkbox dialog, making it easy to record additional pay elements alongside hours.
Status Flow
Entries progress through Draft (editable), Submitted (locked, pending approval), and Approved (locked with final hours) states. Managers can see submitted entries on Who's On Site and other clocking views, and can adjust hours in Detailed Approvals Tab.
Equipment
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
We've completely rethought how equipment location works in Chime (and continuing to make improvements). By default, everything stays exactly as it is today (Legacy mode) — no changes to how you work.
However, if you'd like to try the new features, ask your Customer Success Manager to enable it (we've called it 'Simplified Mode"). In Simplified mode, equipment location works differently: no more equipment stores, simpler location tracking, and the ability to assign equipment to people with automatic location updates as they move between sites. You can create equipment with or without a starting location, and update it whenever needed.
Both modes work perfectly — Legacy if you prefer to keep things as they are, or Simplified if you want a streamlined approach. Your CSM can help you decide which is right for your team.
Equipment Location
When using Simplified mode, equipment location is managed in one place, making it simpler to see and update where items are at any time (no need for stores, signing in and out etc). This works across Mobile and Web.
Setting a Location
When adding a new piece of equipment, after selecting the type you can optionally set a starting location. This records where the item begins its life in the system.
Viewing Location
On the equipment details page, the previous Sign In/Out and Reservations sections have been replaced with a single Location section and an Assignment section. The Location section shows where the item currently is, when the location was last updated, and who made the change. Location is also reflected on the Issues tab, keeping everything consistent across the platform.
Updating Location
Permitted users can update an item's location directly from the details page. Simply select the new site and confirm. The change is recorded automatically, including who made it and when.
Removing from a Site
If an item is no longer at a location, use the "No longer on site" button. A mandatory reason must be provided before confirming. This clears the current location and closes the associated allocation, recording the date it left the site.
Equipment Assignment Now Tracks Location Automatically
In Simplified mode, assigning equipment to a person now includes the option to keep the item's location automatically in sync with that person's movements.
Assigning Equipment
When assigning an item to a person, you can tick ‘keep location in sync with person’ box. With this ticked, the item's location updates automatically whenever the assignee signs in or out of a site — no manual update needed. The item detail screen clearly shows who it is assigned to and whether automatic tracking is active.
Automatic Location Updates
When the assignee signs in to a site, the item is recorded as being at that site. When they sign out, the item is marked as no longer on site. If the item has been manually moved to a different location in the meantime, the sign-out will not overwrite that — manual moves are always respected.
Unassigning Equipment
Unassigning an item clears the assignee and removes location tracking. The item remains at its last recorded location until manually updated.
Equipment Store removed and optional Site Location (Simplified Mode)
In Simplified mode, equipment stores are redundant. Instead, you can optionally set a location when creating the item, or leave it unspecified and add it later. This gives teams more flexibility — equipment can be created and located whenever it's convenient. Legacy ‘mode’ remains unchanged with stores.
Simplified Mode
Optional Location field when adding new items (no mandatory store selection)
Items can be created with or without a location
Equipment store toggle is hidden from site details page
Legacy Mode
Mandatory store field when adding new items (unchanged)
Original creation behaviour remains exactly the same
All store-related fields and toggles remain visible
Snagging
Snagging Tile Now Accessible Without Being Signed Into a Site
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
The Snagging tile is visible on the home screen whenever a user has snagging permissions without the need to sign into a site. New snags can still be raised; users simply select the relevant site when creating one if they're not currently on site.
Site Area Now Visible on Snags Grid
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
The Snags grid on Chime Web now includes a Site Area column, making it easier to see at a glance which area of a site each snag relates to. Site Area is also now a required field when reporting a snag on mobile, ensuring records are always complete when submitted.
Assign Snags Immediately After Raising Them on Mobile
▌ New Feature
Release: Flamingo
When raising a snag on mobile, users with assignment permissions now see an optional assignment prompt right after the snag is created. No need to create the snag, find it in the list, and assign it separately - it's all in one flow.
How It Works
After you fill in the snag details and submit it, a screen pops up asking “Assign this snag?" You can either assign and pick a person from the list (your own name appears at the top as a quick option), or choose “Leave unassigned / Assign later" to skip this step and assign it from the snag list whenever you want.
Either way, your snag is already created and saved — you haven't lost anything if you decide to assign it later.
