What's New in Emu 1.2
Emu 1.2 delivers more flexibility and visibility across the platform — from new ways to manage and track equipment, to additional timesheet approval workflows, stronger QA reporting, and a number of fixes that improve day-to-day reliability.
Reports
360 Report now includes signed documents
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
The 360 report (found in Address Book, under Individual person) now shows all site documents an individual has signed (alongside the skills and sites worked at). This gives a fuller picture of their compliance status in one PDF report.
Site Documents
Monthly signing frequency now available for site documents
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
Site documents can now be set to require monthly sign-off, in addition to the existing once, daily, and weekly options — useful for documents such as RAMS that need to be reviewed on a monthly basis.
When the new month begins at midnight on the 1st, then the user will be prompted to sign the recurring site document again at their next clock‑in or clock‑out during that month.
Onboarding
New columns 'Created on' / 'Created by' - Induction Workbench
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
The Created On and Created By fields on the Induction Workbench were only visible when expanding individual session rows. These now display as columns, so you can see who created a session and when without having to drill down.
Onboarding steps no longer blocked when a checklist fails scoring
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
Previously, if a checklist within an onboarding step failed its scoring threshold, the step was automatically moved to "Awaiting Information" — blocking the individual from continuing. The onboarding flow can now continue to completion even if a checklist is failed, and the reviewer can then decide whether to approve or reject the submission.
Right to Work induction widget
▌ Bug Fix
Release: Emu 1.2
We've resolved an issue that could prevent the Right to Work induction widget from completing correctly in certain circumstances. The widget now works as expected.
Skills
'Business Unit’ and ‘Last Site Signed Into’ now visible on skills verification tab
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
Two new columns — Business Unit and Last Signed Into — are now available in the skills verification grid, helping managers quickly identify which business unit an individual belongs to and which site they were most recently active at.
Timesheets
New timesheet approval workflows
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
New two-stage approval workflows are now available:
Line Manager then Contract Manager
Line Manager then Payroll
Business Unit Manager then Payroll
Site Tasks
Site task names can now be updated
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
You can now edit the name of a site task directly from the Reference Number box, without needing to contact support. Open a site task, click the Change button to unlock the field, make your amendments, and they will sync automatically.
Multi-step checklist site tasks now start with a Pending status
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
Site tasks for multi-step checklists were immediately moving to "In Progress" when created, before any action had been taken. They now correctly start with a Pending status. Site Task status will automatically update from ‘Pending’ to ‘In Progress’ if a checklist is started.
Forms
Checklist submission - PDF Display fix
▌Bug Fix
Release: Emu 1.2
In some cases, attempting to view a checklist submission was displaying a memory error instead of the expected PDF — typically occurring on very large checklists with many images. This has been fixed and submissions now open correctly.
Quality Assurance
In-progress forms now integrated with QA
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
Forms that are partially completed and saved as in-progress are now properly linked into the QA workflow, so part-finished submissions are visible and trackable alongside fully completed ones.
QA tracker now shows percentage completion per plot
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
The QA live progress tracker tab now shows a percentage completion figure for each plot, giving a quick at-a-glance view of how far along a plot is without needing to count individual steps.
New Site/Question report
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
A new Site/Question report is now available under Quality Assurance > Reports. Select a test plan and the report displays each Yes/No question from that plan, with aggregated totals showing how many times each question was answered Yes, No, or N/A across all submissions.
Expand any question row to see individual submission detail including the site and answer given. The report can be filtered by Site or Business Unit and exported to file.
Equipment
We have been working hard on the Equipment module, and Emu 1.2 marks the start of some significant enhancements. The features below are among the first to land — with more on the way. Watch this space.
Equipment now has a visible and editable mileage
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
Mileage can now be viewed and edited directly on an equipment record under Inventory > Select an item > Details > Surface Tracking Properties. Previously, mileage was only accessible indirectly through the servicing system, making it difficult to track and update.
The mileage value shown is the same value used by the servicing system, so any edits made here are immediately reflected in servicing calculations, and vice versa.
Multiple servicing records can now run concurrently on one piece of equipment
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
Equipment items can now have more than one active servicing record running at the same time — useful where a piece of equipment requires different check schedules, such as a six-monthly inspection alongside a weekly check. These appear as Service Regime 1, Service Regime 2, Service Regime 3 etc.
To set this up, go to Equipment > Individual Equipment > Servicing. Select a service type for Service Regime 1, then click the + button on the right to add a second regime. Select a new service type and both will run independently.
Equipment allocations created automatically when items are signed in and out
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
When equipment is signed in or out of a site, an allocation record is now created automatically — keeping equipment location records up to date without requiring manual entries in the web platform
Allocated equipment now visible on the equipment map and What's On Site
▌ New Feature
Release: Emu 1.2
Equipment items assigned to a site via an allocation are now shown on the equipment map and in the What's On Site tab, giving a more complete view of where equipment is at any given time.
New equipment allocation now pre-populates site and item details
▌ Improvement
Release: Emu 1.2
When creating a new equipment allocation from within a site or equipment record, the relevant site or item is now pre-filled automatically, saving time and reducing the chance of entering the wrong details.
Chime Time > Site > Plant Allocation > + New (the site will be pre-filled)
