CSCS Auto-Verification allows Chime to automatically check submitted card details (that are in the Smart Check Scheme) against the CSCS Smart Check service.
When an operative adds their card information, Chime sends the details for verification. If the card matches the CSCS Smart Check database, it is automatically verified and added to the operative’s profile and the Skills Matrix.
If the card cannot be matched, it will not be verified automatically. Instead, it will be flagged for manual review so an admin or Super User can check the submission and decide what action is needed.
Assigning your skills to CSCS Smart Check
Go to the Skills tile.
Select the Types tab.
Either:
click to add a new skill type, or
open an existing skill type to edit it.
In the CSCS Smart Check Scheme field, select the correct scheme type for your skill (ie CSCS Black Card, you would select CSCS from the drop-down list, IPAF Card - you would select IPAF from dropdown list.). This ensures that is verifying it against the correct scheme.
Under Claim Requirements, tick:
Document Reference Number
Expiry Date
Photo
Click Save.
The skill is now set up for CSCS auto-verification.
What happens when adding a new skill
Once the skill type has been configured, operatives can submit their CSCS card details through the Chime app. Or those with permissions can add skills on desktop. Whichever device, the skill will still be auto-verified.
The operative adds a new skill, such as a CSCS card.
They enter the required information:
Click Submit.
Chime sends the submission to CSCS Smart Check.
If the card is successfully matched, the skill is automatically marked as Verified.
The operative will then see the skill as verified in the Chime app.
What Happens When Auto-Verification Fails
If the system cannot verify the card automatically, the submission is sent to the manual verification queue for review.
A comment will be added to the skill record to show that the verification has failed.
At this point, a Super User or Admin can decide next steps. This ensures that failed checks can still be followed up and resolved without losing track of the submission.
