Face Match Thresholds add an extra layer of security when operatives sign in using a selfie. The system compares the selfie taken at sign-in with the user’s profile photo and calculates how closely they match.
You can set a face match threshold when configuring a site. This helps ensure the person signing in is the correct individual. We recommend starting with a lower threshold when first setting up Chime, and gradually increasing it as users become more familiar with the sign-in process.
Steps to Enable and Set a Face Match Threshold
Go to the Chime Time tile.
Select the Sites tab.
Choose the site you want to configure.
On the right-hand side, locate the Signing In section.
Tick Face Match Required.
From the drop-down menu, select the threshold level:
Good (70-80%)
Very Good (80-90%)
Your face match requirement is now set for that site.
Viewing Face Match Thresholds
You can view the face match result for individuals who have signed in.
Go to Who’s On Site.
Select the individual you want to review.
Under their clock-in details, locate the camera icon.
Hover over the camera icon to see the face match percentage.
On the desktop platform, the exact percentage will be displayed.
On the mobile app, the result is shown using a traffic light system rather than a percentage.
Use Case
Checking face match thresholds can be useful for site managers, contract managers, and payroll teams who need to verify that the correct person has signed in and that hours recorded on the system belong to the right individual.
💡 Tips
Start with a lower threshold 'good' when introducing face match so users can get used to the selfie sign-in process.
Increase the threshold over time to strengthen security once users are comfortable with the system.
If a face match percentage appears low, check the user’s profile photo quality, as clearer photos improve matching accuracy.
