How to Set Up a Near Miss Notification

Get an email notification as soon as a near miss is recorded

Updated over a week ago

Setting up Near Miss Notifications ensures that the relevant managers or responsible people are immediately alerted when a near miss is reported on site. This helps organisations respond quickly, investigate incidents promptly, and maintain strong safety oversight.

Steps to Set Up a Near Miss Notification

  1. Select the System Settings tile.

  2. Click Notifications.

  3. On Near Miss Notifications and click Configure.

    Select a Cohort

  4. Click Add Cohort.

  5. Select the pen icon to choose the cohort you want to receive the notification.

  6. Select the notification channel (ie Text Message).

  7. Click Apply.

  8. Press Save.

Your near miss notification is now active. When a near miss is logged, the selected cohort will automatically receive a notification (see below)

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Create a dedicated safety cohort (for example Site Managers or Health & Safety Leads) so the right people are notified immediately.

  • Review notification cohorts regularly to ensure the correct people are receiving safety alerts.
