Configure Reading Time Requirements

You can edit the reading time requirements on Site Documents

Updated over a week ago

Site Documents in Chime can be configured with additional controls to ensure operatives properly review and sign important information. These settings help improve compliance and provide a clear audit trail.

You can require operatives to spend a minimum amount of time reading a document and enable identity verification, time and location checks. Once completed, the system automatically generates a signed PDF record containing all signature and verification details.

Amend Reading Time Requirements

  1. Open the Site Documents Tile

  2. If creating a new site document - follow the steps here: Add a new Site Document

  3. If already have a document that you want to amend the time settings, click on the document.

  4. Go to the Signing Requirement section.

  5. Set a Minimum Reading Time (for example 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes).

  6. Press the green tick when finished.

The signature button will remain greyed out until this time has passed.

Once signed, Chime will automatically generate a signed PDF record containing the document, signature, timestamp, and any enabled verification details.

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Match the reading time to the document length β€” shorter documents may only need 30 seconds, while longer documents such as RAMS may require several minutes.

  • The generated signed PDF acts as your audit record, capturing who signed the document, when it was signed, and signature
