Updated over 2 weeks ago

Here we have 11 videos that will help you get started with Chime. We recommend you take a look at these short videos to guide you through some key areas of Chime. To see more detail around each section, you can browse the additional articles in our Help Centre.

01 | Understanding your Onboarding Pack

Your Onboarding Pack Spreadsheet contains key sections to fill in prior to us setting up your new Chime Environment. By filling out each tab carefully with essential information it will make the configuration quick and easy to get your team up and running with Chime.

The information required is:

  • Timesheet Approval Workflow - how you want your timesheets approved

  • Directory Roles and Access Levels

  • Employment and Payroll Policies

  • Trade Types

  • Team Details (First Name, Last Name, Role (ie Operative / Site Manger), Trade, Mobile Number)

  • Supplier Information (any subcontractors etc)

  • Site / Project Details (Site Name, Address)

  • Skills (Different Skill Types)

This video runs through how to complete the onboarding pack to help ensure a smooth setup of your CHIME platform.

02 | Adding People to Your Address Book

The Address Book is where you add and manage all users, suppliers, and clients. To add a new user, you will need to add a few key details:

Once added, a Chime invitation will automatically be sent to their mobile phone ready to Download the Chime App.

03 | Going Live - Sending Invitations

We will 'go live' with your Chime Platform when you are ready. You might want to send invitations out to a test group first and then to your whole team - we can work with your requirements.

When you give us the date, we will then automatically send the invitations out to your team. An invitation is a text message to their phone which they will download the Chime App and they will then be ready to go!

04 | Setting up Sites

Before your team can start signing in, you need to set up the sites / projects for them to sign into. This is quick and easy - sites can be set up in minutes (see add a new site / project).

On this new site page you can add your key people as well as setting up your signing in requirements.

05 | Signing In Methods

Overview of three ways operatives can sign into Chime.

Each method logs identity verification, time and gps stamp whilst maintaining a full audit trail within the system.

06 | Timesheet Approval

You can approve timesheets in Chime using both the web platform and the mobile app.

NOTE: it is best to wait until at least one week of live data is available before doing any approvals.

The main two approval methods on the web platform are:

You can also add comments, view sign-in details, and manage issues such as missed sign-outs (see: what is auto sign out), while maintaining a full audit trail.

07 | Adding Site Document

Create and manage site documents in Chime. Site documents allow you to share important information—such as RAMS, toolbox talks, or workforce communications—that operatives must read and sign during the sign-in or sign-out process.

The video demonstrates how to upload a document, choose which sites and users it applies to, and configure when and how often it must be signed. It also shows how to schedule documents, set minimum reading times, and track signed records through downloadable PDFs with full audit details (see How to add Site Document for more detail).

08 | Adding Skills

Add, verify, and track workforce skills and qualifications in Chime using the desktop platform. It is very easy to add skills on behalf of operatives, verify qualifications submitted through the mobile app, and upload supporting information such as ID numbers, expiry dates, and photos.

You can also monitor skills through the Skills Matrix, identify qualifications that are expiring soon or already expired, and export skill data for reporting.

09 | Skills Rules

Create and use skill rules in Chime to filter and analyse workforce qualifications more easily.

Skill rules allow you to group people—such as by trade or cohort—and quickly check whether they hold specific required skills or certifications. The video demonstrates how to create a rule, choose the relevant cohort and skills, and apply the rule to the Skills Matrix. It also explains how to interpret the status icons to identify valid, missing, or expired qualifications and how to export the results for reporting or compliance checks.

10 | Create a form

View how to create a new form in Chime. Forms can be easily built using a range of configurable widgets, allowing you to quickly design digital processes tailored to your needs. You can also apply permissions and restrictions to control who is able to complete the form and who can view the final submitted results, which is particularly useful for handling sensitive information.

For more detailed guidance on each feature, please refer to the articles in the Forms section of the knowledge base.
