Skills Matrix

Have live view of all your teams' skills

The Skills Matrix gives you a live, company-wide view of all skills within Chime Desktop. You can use filters to break down the data by skill type, expiry date, person, employer, trade, or site.

It’s an interactive tool designed to help you track compliance in real-time.


Viewing the Skills Matrix

  1. Click on the Skills tile on the left-hand side.

  2. Select the Skills Matrix tab at the top.

  3. Use the filter options to narrow results:

    • Skill type

    • Person

    • Employer

    • Trade

    • Site

Additional View / Filter Controls

  • Order Picker

    • Default: Alphabetical

    • Optional: Pick to Frequency to show the most common skills first

  • Mode Picker

    • Default: Simple view

    • Optional: Select Rules-Based (and choose a rule to view) to see which users meet specific Skills Rules

  • Display

    • Default: Status Icon

    • Optional: Switch to Expiry Date to see colour-coded expiry information with dates on them:

      • 🟩 Green – In date

      • 🟨 Amber – Expiring soon

      • 🟥 Red – Expired

Skills Matrix Icons

You can click on any icon to open that person’s skill record in a pop up for details / photo.

Icons:

  • Green tick – Skill is in date and compliant

  • Orange hazard – Skill is not verified or expiring soon

  • Red hazard – Skill is expired or missing

Exporting Skills Matrix

To export the skills matrix, press the export button on top right of screen.

The export displays all the skill statuses colour coded for instant visibility. A colour key at the bottom explains each status:

  • Pass (verified)

  • Unverified (pending verification)

  • Unverified (pending verification) - no expiry

  • Expiring soon

  • Expired (Required and has expired)

  • Fail (Required and do not have)

  • No Expiry

Display Modes Supported
The export respects your chosen display mode: show status icons (Pass, Unverified, etc.) or expiry dates, with the same colour coding applied either way. Filters applied on screen are reflected in the export.


Use Case

This feature is commonly used by Admins, Super Users, and Health & Safety Managers to manage qualifications and maintain compliance across teams and projects.


💡 Tips

  • Switch to Rules-Based Mode to quickly check who meets your site requirements.

  • Use Expiry Date view for planning upcoming training or renewals.

  • Run regular exports to monitor compliance trends over time.
