Chime will auto sign out someone if they forget to sign out of site. Auto sign out ensures there is always a record on an individual’s timesheet. While it defaults to one hour and must be corrected by the approver, this process creates a prompt to speak with the individual, remind them to sign out properly, and maintain accurate working hours.
Summary:
At midnight on the same day, Chime automatically signs the person out.
On their timesheet, this will appear as only 1 hour worked (1h 0m)
The timesheet must then be manually corrected by the approver.
Settings can be customised to suit (e.g. for night shifts etc).
Steps
From your desktop, select the Chime Time tile.
Select the Details Approval tab.
Choose the individual whose timesheet you want to review.
On their timesheet, check the recorded hours:
If it shows 1 hour 0 minutes, this indicates the individual has been auto signed out.
There is also a red triangle to indicate something needs reviewing on timesheet.
You will see the clock-in time is correct, but the clock-out time defaults to one hour later.
An icon of a plug socket confirms that the system has auto clocked them out.
If you are the approver, select the blue button on the right-hand side.
Manually edit the hours to reflect the correct working time.
Press Save to confirm the changes.
💡 Tips
Remind staff to always sign in and out properly to avoid auto sign out corrections.
Look for the plug socket icon to quickly identify auto sign out.
Adjust shift length settings (e.g. for night shifts) to better suit your business requirements.
