You can enable sign-out reminders for a specific site, which will notify all individuals on that site before closing time to remind them to use the Chime App to sign out. The reminder will appear as a pop up banner on their mobile device.
This feature is especially useful if individuals or teams often forget to sign out, as it:
Reduces extra work for approvers and site managers.
Keeps sites compliant and easier to manage.
Encourages consistent use of Chime for accurate records.
Setting up Reminders
From the left-hand side menu, select the Chime Time tile.
At the top of the screen, select the Sites tab.
From the list of sites, click on the site you want to add the reminder to.
On the left-hand side, select the Site icon from the tree.
Scroll down to the Operating Hours box.
Click on the pen icon and set the operating hours for your site:
Example: Opens at 7am and closes at 4pm.
Click the green Save button when finished.
On the right-hand side, scroll down to the Sign Out Reminder box.
Click the Enable button so that it turns blue.
Set the number of minutes for the reminder.
This is based on the site closing time β this is why it is imperative that you first set the site operating hours.
Example: If you set 30 minutes and the site closes at 4pm, the reminder will go out at 15:30pm to everyone on that site.
Once enabled, reminders will automatically be sent out to your team before closing time.
Use Case
Sign-out reminders are usually set up by:
Super-users or office admins when creating a new site.
They can also be added at a later time to an existing site as needed.
π‘ Tips
Use reminders if you notice repeated auto sign outs at a particular site.
Adjust the reminder timing to suit your workflow (e.g. 30 minutes vs. 60 minutes before site closes).
