Detailed Approvals gives you a full breakdown of every individual’s timesheet and clock-in data. You can view the exact hours worked each day, GPS location and geofence, selfie and face match details, and the approval history (who has approved and who is still pending).
This view also lets you:
View and add comments for clarification.
Record additional payments or expenses.
Review overtime and adjustments.
It’s a powerful tool for drilling down into the detail of each timesheet before approving hours and passing it through to the next approval person.
Opening up a timesheet
Select the Chime Time tile.
Click on the Detailed Approvals tab.
On the left-hand side, select the week you want to approve using the arrow buttons.
View the list of individuals:
Ready for You – shows timesheets awaiting your approval.
Waiting on Others – shows timesheets pending other approvers.
Complete – shows finished approvals.
Select an individual to open their timesheet.
Viewing the details of clocking in and out
Review the week view (Individual days and hours are at the top)
Click on an individual day to view quick icon view of sign-in data, including:
Clock-in and clock-out times.
Geofence status.
Face match quality.
Device used.
Who signed in (themselves / someone else ie manager)
Click on the 'i' details to see more detail and the map
Viewing and approving the timesheet hours
To approve hours:
Once approved successfully, the timesheet will have green ticks next to the time and automatically move to the next approver.
To add additional payments or expenses:
Click Add Payments or expenses
Select the day.
Choose the payment type (e.g. train fare).
Enter the amount and confirm.
When finished, your approvals and payments will be logged, and the timesheet passed on.
Making or Viewing Comments
Scroll to the bottom of the timesheet.
Click the Add button to write a comment.
Type your message and press save.
Your comment will go directly to the individual, helping resolve questions quickly.
To view existing comments, scroll to the same section.

Detailed Approvals can be used by anyone on the approval workflow, including:
Site Managers
Contracts Managers
Super-User Payroll
HR Managers
It is recommended to carry out approvals on the Chime platform desktop, though approvals can also be made on mobile.

Use the red triangle alert to focus on potential issues.
Always enter times in the correct format (09h 30m).
Take advantage details information icon for sign-in accuracy checks.
Keep comments clear and concise to speed up approval discussions.
Use Add Payments for expenses or allowances that fall outside regular hours.
