Assigning Equipment

Assign responsibility to individuals

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can assign equipment to specific individuals to indicate who is responsible for its upkeep and servicing. This doesn’t necessarily mean the assigned person has the item on them at all times—others may still use it—but they retain overall responsibility.

Once an item is assigned, you can reassign it to someone else at any time. Equipment assignment can be managed from both the desktop and mobile apps.

Assigning a piece of equipment to someone

On the inventory details page

  1. Go to Equipment profile page

  2. On the Details tab, scroll down to the Assignment box.

  3. Click the Assign button.

  4. Search for and select the person you want to assign the equipment to.

  5. The individual will now be responsible for that item, and it will appear under their equipment list (see Equipment Inventory - Yours / All Tab)

This can only be done the FIRST time you assign equipment. After that, follow the method on the following page.

On the inventory dashboard screen

  1. Go to the Inventory dashboard screen

  2. Select the item/s you want to ‘Assign’ using the tick box

  3. Click the Assign button.

  4. Select the individual you want to assign the equipment to.

  5. Pop up will appear.

NB: If ALREADY assigned, it will give you the option to ‘skip’ or ‘reassign’ it to new person.

  • Skip: This will mean the piece of equipment remains assigned to original person

  • Reassign: This will allow you to choose another person to assign the equipment to

If there is servicing for this equipment, the person will now be responsible for this

Use Case

💡 Tips

  • Keep assignments up to date when roles or responsibilities change to maintain clear accountability.
