Service Schedules

Set schedules to your equipment to keep on top of maintenance and checks.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

A Service Schedule in Chime is a planned maintenance schedule that automatically tracks when equipment needs servicing. These schedules can be set to trigger based on:

  • Mileage

  • Running hours

  • Time duration

This helps you keep equipment in good working condition and prevent costly breakdowns. Once created, a service schedule can be applied to equipment types or individual items, ensuring that every piece of equipment is automatically monitored and flagged when a service is due.

Add new Service Schedule

  1. Go to the Equipment tile on the left-hand side of the Chime dashboard.

  2. Click the ‘Servicing Schedules’ tab at the top.

  3. Press the + New button

  4. Name your service schedule — for example “Quarterly Service.”

  5. Press Save.

Add Rule

  1. On the right-hand side of your new service schedule, click Add New Rule

  2. From the drop-down list, select the rule type:

  • Mileage

  • Running Hours

  • Time-Based

For example, select Time-Based and set it for every 3 months (quarterly) NB: You can add more than one rule.

  • Once configured, press Save.

Your service schedule is now active and ready to apply

💡 Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive names (e.g. “6-Month Inspection” or “500-Hour Service”) so schedules are easy to identify.

  • Add multiple rules where needed (e.g. time-based and mileage) to ensure nothing is missed.

  • Regularly review active schedules to confirm they still reflect manufacturer guidelines and operational needs.
