Viewing Time Off on Timesheets

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When Time Off is linked to timesheets, approved leave automatically appears in the employee’s weekly timesheet. This removes the need for manual adjustments and makes payroll processing clearer and more accurate.

View Time Off on Timesheet

  1. Go to Chime Time tile

  2. Select Detailed Approvals or Approval by Site

  3. Find the employee and week you want to review

  4. You'll see:

    • Paid Time Off line: Shows the hours for each day of approved time off (if using separate line method)

    • Standard line: Shows the hours alongside worked hours (if using standard line method)

    • The hours are already approved and don't require additional approval

Use Case

This feature is predominantly used by:

  • Payroll/HR teams who process payroll and need time off to appear automatically on timesheets

  • Super Users setting up the Time Off module

  • Companies that want to eliminate manual timesheet adjustments for holidays

Most companies choose to link time off to timesheets using the "Paid Time Off" separate line method, as this makes it crystal clear which hours are holiday versus worked hours when reviewing timesheets and running payroll reports.

💡 Tips

  • Use the "Paid Time Off" separate line method for maximum clarity in reports and timesheet reviews

  • The hours that appear are based on the employee's "Hours Per Day" in their time off policy – make sure this is set correctly

  • Time off only appears on timesheets once it's been approved, not when it's first requested
