Withdrawing a Time Off Request

Withdraw a request if plans change

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If you've submitted a time off request but need to cancel it (for example, your plans have changed), you can withdraw the request yourself if this permission is enabled. If withdrawal is not enabled, you'll need to contact your manager or admin team to cancel it.

Withdrawing Time Off

  1. Open the Chime app on your mobile device

  2. Tap the Time Off tile from the home screen

  3. Find the request you want to withdraw in your list

  4. Tap on the request to open the details

  5. Tap the Withdraw Request button

  6. Confirm you want to withdraw the request

The request is now withdrawn and will disappear from your pending list. Your allowance will be restored if the days had been deducted.

If Withdraw button is Not Enabled

This might be a Company Policy, in which case, contact your line manager, HR team, or whoever approves time off in your company. They can cancel the request on your behalf from the desktop platform. Let them know which dates you need to cancel and they can remove the request for you.

Use Case

This feature is used by all employees when their plans change and they no longer need the time off they've requested.

Whether withdrawal is enabled depends on your company's policy. Some companies allow employees to withdraw their own requests for flexibility, while others prefer to control cancellations centrally to ensure proper oversight and avoid confusion with scheduling.

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Withdraw requests as soon as you know your plans have changed to free up those days

  • If you need to change dates (rather than cancel completely), it's often easier to withdraw and submit a new request

  • Once withdrawn, you'll need to submit a completely new request if you change your mind again
